My mother gave this to us 14 years ago and the only thing we have had to replace is the rubber gasket which lasted 10 years. I make hot blended soups, frozen drinks, frozen smoothies, humus, milkshakes and salad dressings. No problems at all. It is an amazing product.

Waring PKB-10 - This heavy duty, commercial quality 2-speed Waring blender features an extra powerful motor housed in solid, gleaming chrome. In just seconds, this blender can crush ice, blend frozen fruit smoothies, or purée soups and sauces. Comes with a dishwasher safe 40 oz. heavy glass carafe with removable stainless steel blade assembly, and a sturdy commercial power cord. The heavy chrome base is set on cushioned rubber feet for stable operation. PKB10When you whip up a frosty piña colada with this machine, it's clear why Waring is a respected name in blenders. The powerful motor easily crushes ice at either high or low speed, and the thick, 5-cup glass container and heavy-duty chrome base are durable and look great on the bar or counter. Not only does it whir smoothies, ice-cream shakes, cocktails, and other drinks, it also creates smooth soups and sauces, makes bread crumbs, and produces party dips (recipes are included). Fully assembled, the blender--calibrated in cups/ounces and in liters--stands 15-1/2 inches high, on a 7-inch-diameter base, and the blender's power cord extends 6 feet, permitting use under varied circumstances. The glass container, plastic container collar, and blade are dishwasher-safe, but the plastic lid with its 2-ounce-measure insert and the rubber gasket sealing the bottom must be hand washed. --Fred Brack
